Der Film „MORGEN“ ist kein Künstlerporträt im üblichen Sinne. Davon gibt es schon genug. Es ist auch keine gewöhnliche Dokumentation einer ausserordentlichen Ausstellung im Kunsthaus Graz. Es geht auch nicht um Kunst im Zeichen einer Pandemie und der Schliessungen rundherum, die wir als Lockdowns in unseren Sprachgebrauch übernommen haben. Und doch ist es ein bisschen von allem.
Der Film „MORGEN“ will keinen wissenden Überblick über Dinge geben, die nicht fassbar sind. Vielmehr sind es vorsichtige Annäherungen und Fragen, die hier gestellt werden. Es sind intime Einblicke in vermeintliche Nebenschauplätze, die wir zu sehen und zu hören bekommen. Das Material der Welt ist selten geordnet. Er offenbart sich als eine Polyphonie von Unverständlichkeiten und Merkwürdigkeiten. Er materialisiert sich in Pathos und Komik, in Lakonie und Unermesslichkeit. Der Film ist eine stupende Suche nach Spuren. Meistens fragmentarisch. Oft seltsam. Aber immer künstlerisch.

The film „TOMORROW“ is not an artist portrait in the usual sense. There are already enough of those. Nor is it an ordinary documentation of an extraordinary exhibition at the Kunsthaus Graz. Nor is it about art in the sign of a pandemic and the closures all around, which we have adopted as lockdowns in our linguistic usage. And yet it is a bit of everything.The film „TOMORROW“ does not want to give a knowing overview of things that cannot be grasped. Rather, it is cautious approaches and questions that are posed here. They are intimate glimpses into supposed sideshows that we get to see and hear. The material of the world is rarely ordered. It reveals itself as a polyphony of incomprehensibilities and oddities. It materializes in pathos and comedy, in laconicity and immensity. The film is a stupendous search for traces. Mostly fragmentary. Often strange. But always artistic.
